The TAWANI Foundation, through its founder Jennifer Pritzker, announced it would commit $10 million to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, including a $5 million challenge grant to encourage additional donations. The multi-year gift supports the CSO’s “Sempre Always” campaign to raise $175 million in support of long-term financial stability and musical excellence.

Why it matters:

  • Financial stability and growth: The significant donation and challenge grant help secure a steady financial future for the CSO, enabling it to maintain its high standards of musical excellence and invest in its long-term sustainability.
  • Enhanced community engagement: The funding will allow the CSO to expand its educational and community programs, thereby enriching the cultural fabric of Chicago and making classical music more accessible to diverse audiences.
