The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, a six-week festival spanning July and August in the mountainous desert of Santa Fe, NM, announced Jim Griffith as its next executive director beginning Oct. 1. Griffith succeeds Interim Director Amy Lam, who led the 2024 festival following the departure of former Executive Director David Kitto for health reasons.
Griffith is the founder, president, and CEO of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center (SBDAC) in Fort Myers, Fla., where he led a 30,000-square-foot venue that hosted more than 200,000 visitors every year. He is also the co-founder of the Palm Beach Chamber Music Festival, the Gulf Coast Music School, and the New Arts Festival, all in Florida.
As a musician, Griffith is a violist with performance degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School. He has performed with the New York Virtuosi chamber orchestra and, after relocating to Florida, the Naples Philharmonic for more than two decades.
The 2025 Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival is its 52nd season and will run from July 13 to Aug. 18. World-renowned musicians scheduled to perform include Orion Weiss, the JACK Quartet, the Calidore String Quartet, pianist Kirill Gerstein, violinist Leila Josefowicz, clarinetist David Shifrin, and many others.
